CPO Vice President passes away; Condolences pour in

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): Vehushu Medeo, Vice President, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) passed away after a brief illness on April 10 at NHAK, Kohima.

Mourning his demise, the Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) expressed shock and sadness and termed it a loss for the community.

Remembering late Medeo as a distinguished personality, the WCH said that he was among the very few dignified, sensible, brave, outspoken, honest and charming leaders.

A recipient of Governor's Commendation Certificate for Social Service, Medeo was looked upon as a leader with devoted sense of service and a beacon of light to young upcoming generations, the Hoho stated, adding that the void created by his demise would be ‘forever unfilled’.

It offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

In a separate message, Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu also mourned the demise of the CPO Vice President. 

Late Medeo was a man of principle, integrity and also an active social worker with an amiable personality who worked tirelessly and courageously for the welfare of the community as a whole and Pfutsero area in particular, Kronu stated in a condolence message.

We have lost a straight forward, God-fearing and benevolent Chakhesang leader who always stood by his words and his demise will be a vacuum hard to fill, he added.

The Minister conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President Naga People's Front (NPF) also mourned late Medeo’s demise on Saturday.

“He was a staunch regionalist and served the party on various capacities. He served the party as working President Phek Division and was presently Advisor of the Phek Division,” the NPF President stated in a condolence message on Saturday. His sacrifices and contributions towards the welfare and upliftment of the party will be always remembered and cherished, he added.

The NPF party conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God to grant them solace and comfort. The party also prayed for peace for the departed soul.
