Custom Hiring Centre at Ngoromi village was inaugurated on November 12.

Kiphire, November 13 (MExN): Custom Hiring Centre at Ngoromi village was inaugurated in the presence of KVK, Kiphire officials, officials of NSRLM and Village council, Ngoromi village on November 12. The Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) is a joint initiative of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kiphire and NSRLM, Longmatra block and undertaken with Dr N Khumdemo Ezung as the Project Leader, a press release received here stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Temjenna Jamir, SMS KVK Kiphire gave a brief introductory remark on the importance of CHC and the role it plays for farm mechanization and empowers farmers to tide over the shortage of labour and improve efficiency of agricultural operations.
She stated that the CHC will empower community institutions for better rural finance, improve agriculture productivity and facilitate value chain development so that the produce can go to better markets and hence double the farmers’ income.
She informed that the VLO which will be the custodian of the unit shall submit all the details such as bank account details along with the details of all the SHGs under the VLO for record. She further stated that the progress of the CHC will be evaluated under the joint supervision of KVK and NSRLM on yearly basis.
Seroba Sangtam, HEA District Horticulture Office highlighted on the various schemes and projects the farmers can available in order to strengthen their farming system. He mainly emphasised on per drop more crop PMKSY scheme, the various benefits and how they can avail it from the department.
Power weeder, paddy thresher, paddy harvester, manual operated water pump, Knapsack sprayer, fruit harvester were handed over for the CHC, Ngoromi village. Altogether 54 farmers attended the launching programme.
