DAN observe World Paper Bag Day in 3 districts

DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN): Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) under Morung Project observed World Paper Bag Day in Phek, Zunheboto and Tuensang districts on July 12. In Phek district, the event was organised at Sacred Heart Hr. Sec. School, Chizami, where the students along with some teaching staff participated in the event.

According to a press release issued by DAN, Dimapur, regional coordinator, Tshekulhi Aku during the event spoke about the significance of the day. He also encouraged the children to use paper bags instead of plastic bags while sharing about the harmful effects of plastic on our environment due to its non-biodegradable nature. To mark the event, paper bag making was carried out by the students. 

In Zunheboto district, the event was observed at Amiphoto. Niyeshi shared about the importance of paper bag usages and harmful effects of polybags. The children participated in paper bag making activities which were then sold to vendors by the children while spreading awareness to promote paper bags.

In Tuensang district, the event was organised at Hakushang school, Nyaklangbou. Naong shared about the importance of Paper Bag Day during the event after which paper bag making was carried out by the children which were then distributed to vendors in and around Nyaklangbou area.
