DAN winds up campaign in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): DAN coalition comprising of NPF, BJP and JD (U) with support from NCP and Independents has wound up campaign in Dimapur for its consensus candidate Neiphiu Rio for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. The last rally was held at Clock Tower junction on Sunday evening.

A press release informed that Parliamentary Secretary Tovihoto Ayemi at the programme said there was no confusion among the public regarding who would win the lone Lok Sabha seat as all political parties except Congress were united. He added that 8 (Congress Legislators) was a weak number in contrast to 52 (DAN Legislators) in the 60-seat NLA.
He likened the current position of the DAN government to a magnet which continues to attract more metals and that it has the capacity to come together in one form even when others try to destruct it into pieces.  He appealed the leaders present to go back to their own areas and sensitize the people to come out and exercise their franchise in favour of Neiphiu Rio.

Parliamentary Secretary Zhaleo Rio said the Congress booklet on ‘11 years of NPF misrule,’ contained white lies and described it as “misleading.” He accused the UPA government of insincerity towards resolving the Naga issue and said Neiphiu Rio was committed to taking up the Naga cause. He appealed the electors not to have second thought in voting in favour of DAN consensus candidate and create a record-breaking victory in favour of Neiphiu Rio.
JD (U) president, Mhonjan Lotha described Neiphiu Rio as a “political genius” and said whatever decision Rio was taking today, the advantages would be realized by the people 20 years later. Other BJP and NPF leaders also spoke during the meeting.
