Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Darogapathar Village Council (DVC) has appealed to all stranded persons of Darogapathar village in particular and the people of Nagaland in general “to make a choice of staying back wherever they are for at least another two months and contribute to the State of Nagaland in maintaining COVID-19 free region.”
DVC, chairman, Nungtokmeren Jamir and Secretary, K Ado Bizo in a press release issued on May 13 stated that “under unavoidable circumstances”, those who are returning must report to the Council through their family members. On reaching Dimapur, they will be screened at the screening facility centre and quarantined for 14 days at designated centre set up by the Government. “Thereafter, the entry to the Village will be allowed on producing relevant documents from the competent authority,” the Council stated.
Meanwhile, the Council had also appealed to the families of those returnees (if any), not to approach the Council for any consideration to cut short the quarantine period of their wards, as the health and safety of the village populace is the Council's priority.
The Council also appealed to the Government of Nagaland to provide full financial assistance to those members who opt to stay back in their present locations.
