DDCF demands early completion of BSL-2 lab in Dimapur

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) today urged the Nagaland state government to speed up the setting up of the BSL-2 Lab at CISHR, Dimapur on war footing and make it ready for testing at the earliest. DDCF in a press release issued by its Media Cell, while lauding the government of Nagaland for successfully setting up the virology laboratory, Bio-Safety Level-3 (BSL-3) Lab at Naga Hospital, Kohima and subsequently receiving approval from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR),  highlighted that Dimapur being the entry point for all the stranded people coming back to Nagaland and Manipur by rail and road, greater focus should go towards the completion and readiness of the testing facility in Dimapur. “Now that the stranded people have already started coming back and some already being accommodated at different quarantine centres in Dimapur, the readiness of the virology lab with testing facility at Dimapur is all the more imperative,” stated DDCF.
