Demand for Frontier Nagaland State ‘un-negotiable, uncompromising’: ENPO

DIMAPUR, JULY 29 (MExN): The ENPO has stated that taking stock of the various statements and opinions from various agencies, quarters etc over the past few months, weeks & days “creating unprecedented  confusion  and unwanted propaganda amongst the people in the State in regard to the Statehood demand by the ENPO from the Govt of India”, the people of the 6 (six) tribes of Eastern Nagaland has made it clear that the ENPO continues to stand firm on the resolution as adopted on the 25th May 2007 at Tuensang HQ on the demand for a full-fledged Statehood (Frontier Nagaland).
A press note issued by ENPO Vice President Yonglong Konyak and General Secretary Toshi Wangtung stated that the Statehood was “un-negotiable and uncompromising”. However, the ENPO appreciated the “kind gesture and the sagacity” of the State Cabinet in the efforts for addressing the memorandum of the people of Eastern Nagaland for a full-fledged Statehood which it termed as “undeniably ground-breaking”. The above was re-iterated at Mon HQ on the 28th July during ENPO meeting with all frontal organisations on behalf of the people of Eastern Nagaland, the press note stated.
