Dimapur | December 19:Intending candidates for the recently advertised posts of Primary Teachers and Graduate Teachers have reported that the Office of DEO Zunheboto is charging additional Rs 20 for the cost of application form. It has been clearly mentioned in the government advertisement published on December 10 in the local dailies that the application form fee is Rs 100.
Some of those who have collected the application form said that the DEO office was charging Rs 120, an extra of Rs 20 giving the excuse that the forms “were running out.” This report was also confirmed by the All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) which outrightly decried the act of charging extra amount and said that the shortage of forms should not be an excuse to charge beyond the fixed amount. SKK President Nihoyi Kinnimi said the extra amount of Rs 20 which has been charged should be refunded when the applicants pay the examination fee of Rs 400 while submitting the form. “The applicants can pay only Rs 380 instead of Rs 400 while submitting the Form so that the Rs 20 gets adjusted,” Nihoyi suggested. The DEO Zunheboto did not respond to call on mobile phone.
Meanwhile, many applicants from other districts were also expressing displeasure over the exhorbitant examination fee of Rs 400. If the application form fee is included, the applicants said, one would be spending Rs 500 to sit for the exam.
