Kohima, December 1 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture bade farewell to its retiring Director, G. Ikuto Zhimomi on November 30 at Agriculture Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima.
Delivering his farewell speech, retiring Director, G. Ikuto Zhimomi said that he joined the Department in the year 1987. He stated that during his 35 years of service, he had the fulfillment of serving the people in various capacities because of the cooperation and support from the officers and staffs of the department. He encouraged the department to continue to serve the people with devotion especially farmers and to work hard for achieving higher. He expressed gratitude to all the 11 districts of 42 establishments for cooperating with the Directorate and facilitating in carrying out works and programmes smoothly.
The retiring Director also extended his gratitude to the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operation G. Kaito Aye and Principal Secretary and APC Imkonglemba Ao, IAS for their unwavering Support, proficient administrative guidance to the department and thanked the Government of Nagaland for giving the privilege of serving the people of the State. After the programme, he formally launched the official news bulletin (Agriculture News Letter 2017-2018) of the Department.
Principal Secretary and APC, Imkonglemba Ao, IAS in his short speech highlighted various achievements of the department under the leadership of the outgoing Director. He urged the officers and staffs to emulate the Spirit of team work for the success story. He congratulated the outgoing Director for retiring with a sound health.
Highlighting the Service profile of the retiring Director, S. Kivikhu Achumi, Jt. Director Agri, stated that during his tenure many schemes and programmes have been achieved successfully where ATMA has covered all the 11 districts and sub-divisions, RKVY formulation and preparation of DAP and SAP and Year of Farmers 2006 to 2007 during which he was awarded Governor's Commendation Award and Vision 2025 preparations and documentation etc.
Additional Director C. Peter Yanthan described the outgoing Director as the most humble and God fearing person and congratulated him for successfully completing 35 years of service with good health. He thanked the outgoing Director for being supportive and guiding efficiently for the upliftment of the farmers and Department.
Speech on behalf of ministerial staff was delivered by Registrar, Vilaseno, farewell song was presented by Directorate officers and Staff, speech on behalf of the outpost establishments was delivered by DAO Wokha, Santsü Kithan. Short speech were delivered by Director Land Resources and Jt. Director Jacob Yanthan and benediction pronounced by Er. Achakbou Newmai S.E. (Agri). The programme was chaired by incoming Director Ben Yanthan.
