‘Dispensation of justice should be to bring peace to dispute’

Wokha district gets separate Judiciary District Court

Wokha, September 29 (MExN): The long cherished dream to have a separate Judiciary District Court became a reality for the people of Wokha district as the department of Justice & Law, Government of Nagaland has inaugurated the district court complex of Wokha on September 28.

The District Court was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court (High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh), Justice Sudanshu Dhulia, stated a DIPR report. While congratulating the district for having a new District Court, Dhulia stated that it is good have good infrastructure but dispensation of justice is not merely having a good infrastructure, “but dispensation of justice should be in the mind and heart of a judge and of a lawyer, because they are the wheels of the same vehicle and the ultimate aim should be to bring peace to the dispute.”

The Chief Justice said, “we should take pride of our heritage, because being a part of that heritage is the pride of being as an Indian and he wants every citizens of Indian to fell and be proud of our rich heritage in varied diversity, as the people of North East has each own rich and pride heritage. With all sincere efforts he urged both the lawyers and the judge to bring a peaceful settlement to a problem whenever it is possible.”

Principal Secretary, Department of Justice & Law, R Ramakrishnan, IAS, said Mokokchung and Tuensang district court complex which is on the verge of completion will be inaugurated very shortly, where construction of Noklak and Mon district Court complex will be taken up in the next financial year.

Ramakrishnan said that only through the existence of the three pillars, coexistence, equal measures and equal strength, would ensure peace to the people of the district, he urged the District Administration as well as the people of the district to give support to the judiciary so that we will have a vibrant district Court in Wokha.

Executive Engineer, CAWD, Nagaland while giving the technical report said, the building which commenced in the year 2012 was constructed at the cost of 662.50 Lakhs with a total plinth area of 27984sq.ft

NSLSA set up children zone to facilitate children involved in litigation be it victim or juvenile in conflict with law which was the first of its kind in the state, extending child friendly legal service to children under NALSA scheme. The children zone has add on creach facility which shall benefit the officers, staff, advocates and even litigants.

Short speeches were also delivered by Judge Gauhati High Court, Justice S.Hukato Swu, Justice Songkhupchung Serto and President BAR Association, Wokha Oren Humtsoe. Secretary Judicial, Law and Justice Department, Nino Iralu proposed the vote of thanks.
