KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): A district-level orientation on the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyaan for Kohima district was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Conference Hall on September 12.
Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, said the orientation was intended to equip departments with a deeper understanding of the initiative. Encouraging the master trainers, he described them as “the main keys to unlock many potentials” in the Abhiyaan’s successful implementation.
The Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyaan is a nationwide initiative designed to empower tribal communities and strengthen responsive governance through a collaborative, multi-departmental approach. Built on a cascading training model, it ensures standardized rollout across states and districts.
Under the framework, State-level Master Trainers will train district-level trainers, who will then train block- and village-level Aadi Karmayogis—drawn from among government officers, teachers, youth leaders, and community volunteers. These change leaders will lead participatory planning processes and co-create “Village Vision 2030” documents with local communities.
The Abhiyaan emphasizes convergence of government schemes, bringing together departments such as Tribal Affairs, Rural Development, Health, Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Forest, and Public Works to deliver integrated services in tribal villages.
Through this convergence, it seeks to improve healthcare and sanitation, boost agricultural productivity, strengthen livelihoods, expand educational opportunities, and ensure access to social security for tribal communities.
