District level training on SAANS for healthcare workers in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, July 29 (MExN): A district level meeting on ‘Social Awareness and Action Plan to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS)’ was held at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Mokokchung on July 29.

A press release from the Office of the CMO stated that, Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH), encouraged the health workers to effectively implement the knowledge acquired from the training.

The resource persons for the training were Dr Imlisenba, Pediatrician IMDH and Dr Imtimongba, MO Changtongya. The trainees were trained on the three aspects; Protect, Prevent and Treat framework (PPT). The main objective of SAANS is focused on greater awareness generation and early detection of Pneumonia in children under the age of 5 years, the release stated.

The training was held for Medical Officers, Community Health Officers and nurses of Mokokchung district.
