EKCA, Kuki Chiefs’ Association reiterate support to Framework Agreement

Kamjong, June 20 (MExN): The Kuki community living in Kamjong area under the aegis of Eastern Kuki Chief Association (EKCA) had considered and declared its support to the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN on August 3, 2015

The EKCA has stated that in the earlier support in the year 2017, “as on today, we the Kuki people of Kamjong area re-affirm our commitment in supporting the Framework Agreement signed between the two parties, as we decided in the past.” 

EKCA President Jamkho Lun Haokip and Vice President Jamlet Haokip, and “Witness” Kuki Tribal Union NSCN/GPRN President, LH Paohao in a joint declaration dated June 13, 2023 stated that the EKCA wishes an early solution to the Naga issue for peace and prosperity in the region. 

“However, the EKCA which has been also supporting the Kuki Tribal Union NSCN/GPRN in the past will continue to support and cooperate in the future,” it stated. 

Meanwhile, the Kuki Chiefs’ Association, Ukhrul also issue a declaration dated June 13, 2023 stating that 13 villages under its aegis “declare its support to the Framework Agreement, which was signed on 3rd August, 2015, between Government of India and NSCN, with the knowledge of KTU/NSCN.” 

“However, Kuki Chiefs’ Association continue to co-operate and support to both Kuki Tribal Union, KTU/NSCN/GPRN in the future,” stated the declaration appended by Kuki Chiefs’ Association, Ukhrul, President Paokholal Baite and General Secretary, Jamkholet Khongsai along with “witness” LH Paohao, President, KTU NSCN/GPRN.

The association also wished an early solution to the long pending Naga issue for peace and prosperity in the region, it added. 

The list of 13 villages included Chepu Yaolen, Litan Sareikhong, Mongkot Chepu, Sangkai, Zalenbung, Lamlai, Chingphei Molnom, Songphel, Mulam, Molsohoi, Pashong, Kamsei Mollen and Khomunnom.
