DIMAPUR, MARCH 21 (MExN): The United Naga Council (UNC) on Thursday said the untold sufferings, pains and mental trauma resulting from the quit notice served to Mao citizens by the Southern Angami Public Organization and the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) is “something that needs to be addressed with nobler mind and sanity.”
Maintaining that land dispute is a common phenomenon everywhere as every Naga village shares a traditional village boundary with more than one village, the UNC urged both the communities to “rein in from further escalation of pandemonium, mistrust and violence but rather embrace the tenet of peace, love and forgiveness.”
Referring to reports that the Mao Council had “reciprocally acted on time to meet the ultimatum such as, restoration of the rest house, lifting of CrPc 144 and relocation of security personnel from the disputed area” and the Tenyimi Public Organization (TPO) has inspected the area and conferment fulfillment of the ultimatum, the UNC appealed both the communities to extend fullest cooperation to TPO in the process of justice dispensation and honour its verdict pronouncement as per the Naga Customary Law.
