Two structures were demolished and two buildings were sealed during the eviction drive carried out by the Kohima district administration at the NLA complex on July 16.

The Kohima District Administration on Saturday carried out an eviction drive against illegal occupants at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) complex in Kohima.
Two illegal structures were demolished and two RCC buildings which are under construction were sealed by the team which included administration officers and the police.
According to a member of the district administration which was led by the Kohima SDO, the eviction drive was carried out due to illegal occupation of public land and government property by encroachers. The administration informed that the occupants were served prior notices and sufficient time was given ahead of the drive.
It said reports were received from Revenue office after which the Deputy Commissioner Kohima detailed magistrates to carry out the drive.
Accordingly, two structures were brought down and another two under construction RCC structures including a shop and residences were sealed by the team.
During the drive, Police personnel, revenue officials and dobashis were present.
