A two-day Summer Camp 2026, organised under the theme "Explosion of Mind," commenced at Bloomfield Hill Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto, on Thursday with sessions focusing on social ethics, creativity and holistic development of children.

Addressing the participants on the topic of Social Ethics, guest speaker Boholi H Zhimo, Assistant Pastor (Children), SBCZ, emphasised the importance of good manners, respect, personal hygiene and responsible behaviour in everyday life.

She explained that social etiquette refers to the rules of good behaviour in society and encouraged students to use polite expressions such as "please", "thank you", "sorry", "excuse me" and "you are welcome" in their daily interactions with parents, teachers, friends and others.

Highlighting the importance of respect and humility, Boholi urged the children to cultivate gratitude and not allow pride or ego to prevent them from expressing appreciation or apologising when they make mistakes.

Speaking on classroom etiquette, she encouraged students to raise their hands before asking questions, speak respectfully and avoid disturbing others during lessons, while stressing the need to maintain discipline and foster a positive learning environment.

The speaker also emphasised the importance of personal appearance and hygiene and urged children to develop healthy habits from a young age. Encouraging them to cherish their childhood years, she said the memories and values they build today would remain with them as they grow older, and advised them to make the most of the camp through learning, friendship and positive activities.

The camp's theme session, "Explosion of Mind," was led by Chaplain Hukatoli H Achumi, who encouraged participants to explore their talents, think creatively and develop confidence in their abilities.

The first day of the camp catered to students from the lower classes up to Class VI and featured praise and worship, creative activities, Zumba sessions, friendly matches and educational talks aimed at promoting holistic development among children.

The second day will be conducted for students from the higher classes and will include sessions on youth development, substance abuse awareness, social responsibility and team-building exercises.
