Zunheboto, May 16 (MExN): The official launch of pamphlet, face mask and hand-wash (soap) distribution to 8 blocks under Zunheboto district was held on May 15 at ATMA office, Zunheboto.
From the Directorate of Agriculture, 4500 units of each of the aforementioned essentials were issued. The respective 8 blocks were provided with 500 pamphlets, face masks and hand-wash each, to be given out to the farmers in order to avoid the field level of spread of the contagious corona virus during farming activities. Precautionary advices and safety measures such as maintaining social distance between the engaged labourers, compulsory use of mask/scarf, washing hands frequently, agricultural tools/ implements/ items to be sanitized and not to be exchanged etc. are explained in detail in the pamphlet. This information intends to give the farmers easy access to connect directly with BTMs, ATMs of Farmers Friends.
Project Director ATMA Dr Meyatoshi Aier, in his address, mentioned that this initiative is an innovative and productive measure to help the marginal farmers during the pandemic and expressed gratitude towards the Minister of Agriculture, G Kaito Aye and the Agriculture department for initiating the programme to.
“This way people can be more productive in a safer environment as agriculture plays the most important role in adding to the smooth flow of economy and as to keep sustainable products flowing in the future to come, the healthcare of the workers is of outmost importance,” he added.
