Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): The Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS), Nagaland has launched the 1st phase of ‘Financial Inclusion Application in ePoS Devices’ in all the 78 Fair Price Shops (FPSs) under Dimapur-Sadar. It will be gradually rolled out in the rest of the districts, V Lovitoly Sema, NCS, Director, Food & Civil Supplies stated in a press release.
It was launched by Temsu Jamir, Additional Director, F&CS in presence of the Chairman, Secretary and GB of Ao Khel Notan Basti, Dimapur. He stated that, the selected FPSs will become the Business Correspondent for the bank(s) and thus, the present ePoS device in the FPSs will work as Micro-ATM which will cater to the service of the general public in the surrounding area/neighbourhood.
I Sashi Pongen (Redt DGM,SBI) said that through this financial inclusion application at the FPSs in the state it will open up new avenues/opportunities and highlighted numerous ways of how it will be beneficial for the public and also for the selected FPSs in the State. The launching programme was chaired by S Kavito Aomi, ADS; invocation was pronounced by Tongpang Longkumer, GB, Notun Basti, Dimapur and brief report on Financial Inclusion Application by Jungshi S Jamir, Inspector (MIS).
‘Financial Inclusion Application in ePoS Devices’ is one of the Ministry’s directives on transformation of Fair Price Shops (FPSs) viz a new initiative to improve the viability of FPS for sustainability and effective delivery of targeted PDS by improving the usage of ePoS Devices (s) and ultimately promote ‘Cashless Transaction facility (ies) at the FPS Level.
