First batch of 38 returnees reach Dimapur from Assam

A total of 11 persons from the Jain community reached Dimapur on early Tuesday evening from Assam by bus. Upon arrival, they were taken to NER Agri Expo Site, 4th Mile, where proper medical examination was undertaken. Out of 11, five were male including a minor and six were female. 


After medical examination, the returnees were taken to a designated centre arranged by the Jain community. They were received at the Agri Expo by Y Kikheto Sema, IAS; Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr Vizolie Suokhrie; Chief Medical Officer; Deputy Chief Medical Officer and a host of other medical officers. 


At the time of filing this report, it was informed that 27 Nagas reached Dimapur at around 9:00 pm taking the total returnees to 38 persons. The returnees were received at Agri Expo and assigned to designated quarantine facilities.


Meanwhile, Kikheto also informed that a train will be arriving at Dimapur Railway Station in the early hours of May 14 and all Nagaland passengers who deboard in Dimapur will be screened and assigned to quarantine facilities.


For passengers from other neighbouring states, screening will be done after which necessary steps will be taken as per protocol, he added.
