Dimapur | May 13

Around 15 passengers from one of the special passenger trains being arranged by the Government of India were due to de-board at Dimapur in the early hours of May 14.

Nagaland State Government officials informed that the low number of passengers for the first batch is probably due to many people from Nagaland missing out on booking their tickets, given the sudden announcement of the special trains by the Central Government.

Railway sources informed that about 15 passengers will step down from the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani train which is scheduled to reach Dimapur Railway Station at around 1:30 am on May 14. The timing may vary in case of delays.

Meanwhile the State Government has set up booths to receive the passengers at the station’s compound, with buses on standby to transport the passengers to quarantine facilities.  It was informed that Railway staff will ensure that de-boarding is done in a safe manner following all protocols like social distancing. The passengers were already screened at their point of origin and will undergo further screening at the quarantine centers.
