First inter-collegiate online Chess tourney on July 25

Kohima, July 14 (MExN): The 1st Nagaland Inter Collegiate Online Chess Tournament under the aegis of Chess Association of St Joseph’s College Autonomous Jakhama will be held on July 25.

 

The association in a release stated that only college students of Nagaland (Under Graduates) will be eligible to participate in the tournament. The online tournament will be played using the Lichess App, an open-source Internet Chess Server, with 3+0s (Blitz), and a time duration of 90th minutes.

 

A press release from the Dozhohu Rhakho, President, Chess Association St. Joseph’s College (A) Jakhama stated that the Chess Association of St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama has come up with a new strategy to organise online chess tournament for all the college students during the state-wide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak.

 

The tournament aims to highlight the solidarity and resilience of mankind and also to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and discipline which must be work upon and carried forward to bring pride to Nagaland.
