CM, ENLU and DY CM mourns demise of Sochet Sosoly

Kohima, July 16 (MExN): Sochet Sosoly, father of Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Pangnyu Phom has passed away on July 15 in Dimapur. Sochet Sosoly was amongst the first batch of converts to Christianity from his native village Yachem, and he also became the first Pastor of Yachem Baptist Church.

CM: Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio in his condolence message that Sochet Sosoly was born on July 25, 1922, and left for his heavenly home on July 15, 2022, just 10 days short of his 100th birth day anniversary, and becoming a centenarian. “How mysterious are the ways of God! And we shall never fully understand!” Rio conveyed. “While we mourn his death, let us also thank God for giving Sochet Sosoly a long and successful life, and for blessing him with illustrious children and grand children,” the CM stated. 

The CM also added that his death is a great loss for the Phom community. “However, the Phom community should praise God for giving them a good Christian leader at the crucial time, when Christianity was beginning to make inroads amongst the Phom community. His pioneering and faithful service for the Lord will continue to inspire believers for a long time to come.” 

ENLU: Eastern Nagaland Legislature Union (ENLU) in its condolence mourned the demise of Sochet Sosoly, Convenor ENLU. “Through his long life on the earth and through the illustrious lives of his off-springs, one can be certain of how faithfully and committedly he might have served the Lord!” the union stated. 

“As we mourn his demise we are comforted at the same by the very truth that he is in a better place, in the loving arms of his Creator whom he has served very faithfully. Lastly, the union conveys our deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” it added. 

Dy CM: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has condoled the death of Sochet Phom. “Sochet was involved in social activities throughout his life spanning several decades and leaves behind a good legacy. His demise is a great loss for the family and the people,” Patton said. 

On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family and pray for the departed to rest in eternal peace.
