Four charged under Disaster Management Act in Peren district

Peren, June 23 (MExN): Peren Police has filed a case against four persons under the Disaster Management Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for violating quarantine rules.

According to a press release from Peren Superintendent of Police, the four quarantined individuals had reportedly sneaked out from the JNV Quarantine centre in Jalukie B, on June 20 and 21, following which they were detained at Police Quarantine facility.

The release stated that a case under Disaster Management Act, 2005, and relevant section of IPC has been registered at Jalukie Police Station against the four detained returnees “for negligent act likely to spread infectious disease dangerous to life and for violating quarantine rule.”
