Minority Department of NPCC held its handing and taking over of chairmanship at Congress Bhavan, Dimapur on November 12.

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) chairman, K Therie asserted that “freedom of faith and religion is truly practiced in Nagaland.” Speaking at the Minority Department of NPCC held its handing and taking over of chairmanship at Congress Bhavan, Dimapur on November 12, stated a press release.
‘This can be seen not only in Dimapur where a major component of the population falls under minorities but also in other districts where many Hindus, Muslims, Jains and other minority communities are settled and engaged in business activities peacefully even in remote villages without any disturbance,’ he stated.
Therie said, “India cannot be called India without the flourishing of such diversity.”
Meanwhile, the NPCC president called on minorities who are prominent in the state’s economy to respond and show love and interest in building up the economy of the state particularly those engaged in agriculture and allied activity.
Stating that the art of business is still lagging with the local youth, he urged the business community to teach and mentor the young and upcoming generations in conducting business.
Addressing the Minority Department, Therie urged the team to shoulder the responsibility of building the economy of the state and to bridge the numerous communities. He reminded the gathering of NPCC’s objective to serve the interests of the people and expressed confident that as a legal expert, the new Chairman would defend the interests of the people.
“Congress is the only party under which everyone can live happily as a family without discrimination. He also called on the minorities to take assurance from the Congress’ manifesto to nominate MLA’s to provide a voice to the interests of the minorities,” Therie concluded.
The release added that the outgoing Chairman Rajesh Kumar Sethi and incoming Chairman, Sarif Ahmed also spoke during the function. The programme was chaired by W Akum Yim, VP, NPCC, vote of thanks proposed by Salikur Raja Khan, VC, Minority Department, NPCC, short speech by Kutoho Chishi, President, DCC, Dimapur and benediction by Bobby Panicker, Working President cum Treasurer, NPCC.
