After securing a hat-trick of centuries last year, three Government High Schools (GHS) - Longjang, Saring, and Yaongyimsen Compound - have maintained a 'perfect' 100% pass percentage record in the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2023, declared by the Nagaland Board of School Education on May 24.

As reported by The Morung Express, the three GHSs under the Mokokchung district achieved the feat of three consecutive 100% pass percentages in the Class 10 exams last year, demonstrating that it was not a one-off but a consistent performance.

Furthermore, it is not a case of a single student appearing and passing, but the records show that at least three candidates or more appeared for the examination from those schools each year.

Meanwhile, two other schools joined the three in 2023, with GHS Khar and GHS Unger securing 100% pass percentages for three consecutive years.

The case of GHS Saring is particularly impressive as the school has maintained a 100% clearance rate since it was upgraded in 2018.

Apart from GHS Khar, all the other remaining schools have missed the 100% pass record only once each during the last six HSLC exams.

GHS Khar missed the mark in 2020 and 2018, with pass percentages of 67% and 50%, respectively. (See Table)
Meanwhile, across Nagaland, GHS securing 100% pass results more than doubled from previous years, with 29 schools achieving the feat in 2023, against 12 last year, denoting a141.66% increase.
