Cutting across backgrounds and denominations, Chakhesang Baptist Church Minister Hill Kohima, Music Department is bringing a worship concert at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima on October 19, Saturday.
Making announcement of the upcoming concert during a press briefing today at the church premises, Senior Pastor CBCMK, Vevo Phesao expounded that the theme of the worship concert, ‘Glory Unveiled’ dives into the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, symbolized by the tearing of the veil in the temple and a powerful imagery representing the breaking down of barriers between humanity and the Devine, granting us direct access to the glory of God.
He said the concert is a celebration of redemption with every aspect infused with Worship gathering people from all walks of life. The pastor said this concert which is being organised in a venue outside of the church premises is to welcome anyone to worship.
This invitation, he enunciated is aimed to glorify God, create an atmosphere for genuine Worship and faith in the hearts of attendees.
“Glory Unveiled is not just about the music, it’s about encountering God in a real and tangible way,” the organizers said. The pastor further hoped that it leaves a lasting impact beyond the concert by focusing on how our shared love for Jesus fosters unity and mutual encouragement among believers.
With heavy preparations being undertaken by the members, Akhrou Veswuh highlighted about how the concert will take place. She informed that choir members consists of different age groups which is about 80 of them and 9 musicians.
Hymns, contemporary Christian music and Worship songs where attendees can sing along in Worship are some gist of the concert.
The concert will begin at 5.00 pm in the evening on Saturday. The tickets are priced at Rs 100 for students, Rs 200 for general and Rs 1000 (admit two) for donors and will be available outside the venue.
The press conference was attended by Rakodu Nukhu, Youth Director, Akhrou Veswuh, Music Director, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, Senior Pastor and Riwe Kenye, Planning Committee Member. The Planning Committee is led by Convenor Zaseto Sasu.
