The museum, the first of its kind in Nagaland, is located in Pacific Aquarium, Kezieke, near Aircell office, Kohima.
On the prospect of the visitors, the proprietor Avezo said the response was “very good.”

The species are mostly imported from China, Singapore and Japan. Among the many fishes available in the Pacific Aquarium are, Black Ghost, Golden Sunglow, Golden Balloon, Golden Marble Angel, Red Hi- fin, Redpom-pom gold fish, Cobra Metallic Guppy, Hi-fin Pinepal, Marigold Ballon, Chocolate Marble, Juvenile Gold Fish Coper Gold Fish, Bleeding Tetra, Fancy Platy, African Butterfly, Red Tiger Skin Oscar, Kissing Gourami, Red Devil Paradise fish, Silver Shark, Sea Angel, Rosy Barb, Silver Catfish Zebra Danio, Upside-down Catfish, Golden Shark, Gold fish etc.
Avozo, 31, who completed MA (Phil) in Guwahati said that he had decided to involve in self-employment opportunity as job avenues in the government sector has reached saturation point. He was of the view that the Pacific Aquarium would be able to set a good example to many youngsters in the state.
Speaking about the numerous species of indigenous fishes, he plans to popularize the indigenous fishes in the state.
The indigenous species requires special attention, he said adding “proper documentation is essential.’
He had invested over Rs 2 lakhs for the project. Presently, he has little over 40 customers including two cabinet ministers Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu and Dr. T.M. Lotha.
Entry fee into the Museum has been fixed at Rs. 10 for general and Rs. 5 for students.
”In the modern world, we have lots of beautiful artificial decorations. But unlike such artificials, this art of aquarium is much more because restless real live fishes perform different movements. As a result this is regarded as one of the best modern recreations, as the name itself is very lively and very refreshing”, the young proprietor says.
Aquarium can provide wholesome entertainment to everybody in the household young and old alike; may be because real live fishes perform better than any other artificial decorations.
Price of aquarium varies according to quality of accessories and sizes of aquarium tank, ranging from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 20,000.
