Gov, Dy CM extend Mileinyi greetings 

Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi extended Mileinyi greetings to Zeliang brothers and sisters and to the people of Nagaland. The Governor in a press note said that “Mileinyi is a festival of purification, benefaction, prosperity and longevity. Traditional games, dances and songs are inherent part of this beautiful festival. It provides a platform for the young people to carry forward the rich and beautiful cultural legacies of the Zeliangs.” The Governor appealed to continue to observe COVID-19 protocols throughout the celebrations. He also wished “all good health, happiness and prosperity.

God bless Nagaland!” The Dy CM Y Patton has greeted the Zeliang community spread across different states of NE, as they celebrate Mileinyi. Patton said that at the onset of spring, jungle cutting is completed and people get ready for sowing. During this time people celebrate the festival, so as to have a successful sowing season and crops will be blessed. On behalf of the BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed festive greetings and hope that they will celebrate with much grandeur and gaiety.
