Nagaland’s Governor RN Ravi today announced that the state government remains committed for providing quality health care to all.
Under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), till date 2.4 lakh eCards have been issued to individual beneficiaries and hospital expenses worth Rs 8 crore have been paid to various empanelled hospitals, Ravi said in his address to 5th session of 13th NLA here today.
Under National Urban Health Mission, a total of 7 (seven) Urban Primary Health Centres are functioning in the State.
He said the State has received grant from Government of India for the upcoming Nagaland Medical College Kohima (NMCK) work for which has already started and expected to get completed by December 2021.
He said the government is implementing several programmes & schemes under the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) for early childhood care and development via Anganwadi Centres for children in the age group of 0-6 years, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana - a total of 14,593 pregnant women and lactating mothers were paid cash incentive through DBT.
The Rural Development Department through MGNREGS provided employment to 3.86 lakh households covering 4.17 lakh individuals in 2018-19, he said.
The programme for implementing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) covering all the Rural Development Blocks with banking facilities has commenced and efforts are being initiated to provide Bank facilities in all the unbanked Blocks, he said.
A three-year Convergence Programme of MGNREGA with North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) & Land Resources Department (LRD) for Springshed Management in 100 selected villages is underway in the State.
