Govt constitutes Dist Coordination Committee

Kohima, July 15 (DIPR): In pursuance of Sub-Section (5) of section 166 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (Central Act 36 of 2003), the Government has constituted District Coordination Committee in every district in Nagaland consisting of the following members for the purpose of the said Act: Deputy Commissioner as Chairman; Superintendent of Police, SE (E)/EE/ (E), Representative of Tribal Hoho and Representative of Municipal Council as Members.
The duties and functions of the Committee as per section 166 of the Electricity Act; 2003 are as follow: To coordinate and review the extension of electrification in each district, To review the quality of Power Supply and consumer satisfaction and To promote energy efficiency and its conservation. Frequency and Quorum for meetings: The District Coordination Committee shall meet at least once in every 3 (three) months. The quorum for the meetings of the Committee shall be 5 (five) members including the Chairman. This was stated in a notification vide NO.PWR/NERC-38/2010 Dated 1st July 2011 issued by Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, L. Kire.
