Govt officers and NGOs called to have cordial bond

Mon, November 19 (DIPR): Addressing at District Level Consultation on National Social Security Schemes (NSSS), at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall on November 17 the DC Mon, Angau I. Thou called upon the Government officers and the NGOs of the district to have cordial relationship and also to retrospect the past mistakes for implementation of the Government’s schemes and projects efficiently in the district.
She asserted that pointing fingers and blaming each other would not solve any problems and urged to have good co-ordination between the Government departments and the NGOs. She also urged upon the Government officers to maintain transparency in implementing various Governments’ Schemes and to see that the poorest of the poor and the disable persons who have 3% reservation are not excluded.
She also informed that in order to identify genuine old aged persons under the Old Age Pension Schemes, District Level Committee have been constituted and only genuine beneficiaries would be selected on the basis of their photographs. The DC also appealed to the NGOs, the Church and public leaders to create awareness to the people about hospital delivery for pregnant mother, Saakshar Bharat, Ration Card for BPL, 3% reservation for the disable persons and other policies and schemes of the Government.
The representatives from Social Welfare department, Food & Civil Supplies, Health & Family Welfare and DRDA also presented their respective schemes, and reported how it has been implemented in the district. The representatives informed about two category of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Schemes (Age 60 - 79 years Rs. 300 PM and 80 years and above Rs. 500/- PM) and its criteria for selection; National Family Benefit Schemes; Incentives of Rs. 700/- and Rs. 600/- for the pregnant mother and Asha Workers respectively for hospital delivery; Deposit of Rs. 10,000/- each to every account of the Village Health Committee (VHC) mean for Pregnant Women and Asha Workers. Implementation of MGNREGS schemes, its Job Card and its present rate of Rs. 118 per day; Ration Cards for both APL & BPL; Mid Day Meal and other public schemes.
Basing on the above report, the participants had a good discussion and healthy interaction with the departmental officers. After sharing on the social issues of the district, it jointly adopted a follow-up action to organize awareness on Governments’ scheme and joint inspection at sub-decision and village level. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Executive Secretary KBBB, Chemyuh; Key note address by Executive Director HADO, Peihwang and short speech was also delivered by CASA officials.
