Online applications for ‘one-time financial assistance’ of Rs 10000 for stranded Nagaland citizens resumed on May 23 on condition that applicants agree to remain in their present location till lockdown is completely lifted in the state of Nagaland.


According to the terms and conditions on the portal, the assistance is only for the stranded citizens of Nagaland in other states of the country who opt to stay back where they are presently.


It said that citizens, who have already availed the benefit during the first phase, are not eligible to apply. However, those applicants whose names are in the rejected list can reapply with proper documents.


It is understood that citizens who avail this assistance will not return back to Nagaland till the lockdown is completely lifted in the State, it stated.


It meanwhile cautioned that use of fraudulent practices to avail this assistance will be strictly dealt under applicable sections of Indian Penal Code & Disaster Management Act, 2005. Applications submitted with information or documents which are incorrect/unclear/misleading will be summarily rejected, it said, while adding that that no claims for withdrawal or corrections will be entertained over email/phone once application has been submitted.


The Government of Nagaland meanwhile reserved the right to publish details (excluding confidential information) of beneficiaries in the public domain.


Meanwhile, Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, informed that till 4:00 pm, on May 23, a total of 3985 applications have been received after the facility opened on the portal.
