Longsa Baptist Church, Pastor, Rev Supongchiten with the children and relatives of Late Yasikala and Late N I Jamir after dedicating a guest house built on August 18.
Mokokchung, August 18 (MExN): Dedication service of a guest house built in memory of Late Yashikala, wife of Late N I Jamir was held at Peniel Prayer Home, Longsa village, Mokokchung on August 18. Rev Supongchiten, Pastor, Longsa Baptist Church, dedicated the new guest house.
During the dedicatory programme, Imtirenla, Chubala, Alemtemshi Jamir (IAS Retd) and Metsübo Jamir, Minister, Government of Nagaland spoke on behalf of the children of Late Yashikala. Talichuba, Chairman, Longsa Village Council and Supongmeren, Deacon, Longsa Baptist Church also spoke on the occasion.
The house was donated by children and in-laws of Late Yashikala and Late NI Jamir. Along with the guest house, two houses at Peniel Prayer Home were also dedicated by the pastor.
Late NI Jamir and Yashikala had 9 children. Late Yashikala married Late NI Jamir, who was the then Chief Secretary and a former minister, when she was 23 years old in 1943. Late Yashikala was awarded the Best Mother award in 2001 by the Watsu Mungdang. She died on October 19, 2017 at the age of 97.
