School health day cum Tithi Bhojan was observed at Government Middle School for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) on September 27. 

Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Potterlane, Medical Officer, Dr Aomeren, while delivering a speech, spoke on the rise of many lifestyle related diseases in present society.  He, therefore, asked the children to maintain healthy lifestyle in our everyday routine. 

Longkumer underscored that to be healthy, one need to observe certain things, most importantly to maintain personal hygiene so as to avoid coming into contact with germs that causes diseases.

He also asked to follow healthy lifestyle from young age and instructed the students to practice daily exercise or physical activities without getting engaged in sedentary habits like watching television or mobile phones for very long time which adversely affects our daily lifestyle and habits. 

Longkumer also said balanced diet is another component of having a healthy lifestyle which includes a variety of food. He said today, due to poor and unhealthy lifestyle, there are many diseases in the community. The doctor asked the students to propagate and spread awareness with their family and people around. 

The programme was followed by Midday Meal or Tithi Bhojan and Kuko Nuh, Lerie Youth Organization president gave a presentation on Tithi Bhojan. Kedivi Mekro, head teacher gave introduction.

126 beneficiaries were screened and tested and services ranged from free consultation, medicines, basic lab tests and vaccination.
