Heralding Tomorrow: ANCSU 20th  Biennial General Conference

The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) is all set to hold its two day long 20th Biennial General Conference on October 22-23 at Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma near Kohima under the theme ‘Heralding Tomorrow.’
This was announced by ANCSU president Vimeyiekho Vitso during a press conference here today at ANCSU office.

Due to pandemic situation, only 5 delegates from all the affiliated colleges have been invited to the conference. ANCSU is expecting 300 delegates from 40 affiliated colleges in Nagaland. He said that ANCSU has cut down some activities this time due to pandemic. “We will follow all SOPs,” he said adding that strict SOPs should be maintained by all attendees.
 
Conference guests/speakers
Nagaland College Principal Association (NCPA) will be introductory guest for introductory session on October 22 at 4:00 PM.
NCPA president D Visakhonü Hibo will address session. Angami Students Union (ASU) president Bisevi Nakhro will share greetings. Higher Education & Tribal Affairs Minister, Temjen Imna Along will be inaugural guest on October 23 at 9:00 AM. Naga Students’ Federation president, Kegwayhun Tep will share greetings. 

Johnny Ruangmei, Joint Chief Executive Officer, State Disaster Management Authority, Home Department, Nagaland will be the academic guest on October 23 at 1:00 PM while Y Kikheto Sema, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland will be valedictory guest at 5:00 PM.
 
Election for tenure 2021-2023
The new office bearers of ANCSU for the tenure 2021-23 will be elected during the conference. In this, election has been scheduled on October 23 from 2:30 PM onwards. The Election Commission is expected to notify the procedure of election by next week, ANCSU president said.

Medo Chirhah will oversee the election matter as commissioner with other two members- Lima Jamir and Mughato Yepthomi. Vitso informed that out of 40 affiliated colleges, 38 colleges have voting right.

Intending candidates have been requested to collect nomination papers and details from the office of Election Commission, as and when notified.
 
Heralding tomorrow
The ANCSU, devoted to the uplifment and welfare of the college students in Nagaland is shouldering responsibilities and keeping its vigil to guide the students’ community to a higher pedestal of growth and learning for the past 42 years. With the dawn of new age and newer heights to attain, the Union is endowed with bigger responsibilities to be the bearer of change in pursuit of finding common excellence, in par with other human civilization.

Keeping this in mind, it has always been the duty and obligation of the Union to be a facilitator of quality education, conducive environment for learning and a vocal agent of change- for -good for the well being of every aspiring student. As the world rushes towards embracing and ameliorating education for sustaining mankind, we the young people cannot be complacent in adopting the means what other advanced societies are embracing. Thus, it is with this belief that the platform of ANCSU is a bearer of change for the promotion of all that is good for a better future, thereby ‘Heralding Tomorrow.’
