KOHIMA, JULY 8 (MExN): The Kohima Police, on July 7, has seized approximately 635 grams valued at around Rs 66.67 lakh in the national market from Khuzama inter-state check gate. Two person were arrested in connection with the seizure.
A press release issued by the PRO Kohima Police informed that contraband was found concealed inside 55 soap cases in a vehicle (Maruti Gypsy) during routine checking by its personnel at the inter-state check gate.
Accordingly, two persons Zingshowung Muilung (43 yrs) and Varengam Awungshi (36 yrs), both resident of Ukhrul, Manipur were arrested and the vehicle along with the contraband were seized, it said.
A case under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) 1985 has been registered at Khuzama Police Station for further investigation, it added.
