A street play on cleanliness and hygiene organized by Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) was held outside the premises of IMDH and Hotel Savoury, Mokokchung premises on March 5.
Dr Limatula, Medical Superintendent of IMDH said that the play was enacted as part of an outreach program to encourage sanitation and hygieneby IMDH nursing students. She said that awareness on health and hygiene is the need of the hour as lockdown norms are getting relaxed.
The play highlighted on the importance of hand sanitation, diseases caused by open defecation, germs from stagnant water, separation of wet and dry waste, use of proper channels during the disposal of septic waste, effects of improper waste disposal and importance of safe drinking water.
During the play, the participants urged the audience to apply the lessons learned from the play in our day to day lives and also requested the combined contribution from the audience to educate others on cleanliness and hygiene to make the society cleaner.
