DIMAPUR, MARCH 21 (MExN): The NNC (Parent Body) has called for bringing all the Naga Political Groups to the negotiating table to work a solution to the Indo-Naga political problem. Yilow Humtsoe, Acting President, in a message on the 66th Naga Republic Day, said that this is the only way forward as desired by all Nagas.
He made the appeal to the Naga Club, Forum for Naga Reconciliation and Global Naga Forum to take the initiative. “And the key point here is inclusivity of our down trodden Eastern Nagas as they were and are an integral part and parcel of our history, land and resources as one people and one Homeland,” he said, while maintaining it will be a political blunder to neglect “this fact.”
According to him, the NNC stood and fought for all Nagas from the very beginning of the political struggle. While stating that the NNC will continue doing so, he said that the Naga people cannot be separated “as we are truly one people” despite the arbitrary political lines dividing the people. “No group or groups however big or strong alone can bring freedom without the collective strength and power of National unity… This is the reality all concerned must understand for final political settlement of the Naga problem,” he said.
