SANIS (WOKHA), APRIL 5 (MExN): Chairman, Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation (NSMDC) and Independent MLA, Thomas Lotha, has made a strong appeal to his party supporters and electorate of 39 Sanis A/C to vote for DAN consensus candidate and chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, in the ensuing election to the state’s lone Lok Sabha seat slated for April 9.
At an election rally in favour of DAN consensus candidate organized by Independent Party at Sanis Zero Point on Saturday, Thomas who represents 39 Sanis A/C, described Rio as one of the tallest leaders not only in Nagaland but entire North East Region and that Rio’s entry in the parliament would be an added bonus to the people of Nagaland.
It may be mentioned that all eight Independent MLAs in the present legislative assembly have pledged their support to Rio.
With Rio in Delhi, Thomas said, Nagaland can expect speedier development in all fronts as Rio’s voice would definitely be listened to by central leaders.
On development back in the constituency, Thomas said Sanis constituency has witnessed lots of development including infrastructure in the last one year under DAN government. He said within one year of DAN-III government, police stations and barracks have been established at Sanis and Sungro, Tourism Centre set up at Sanis, BDO quarter and CDPO office at Sanis and primary health centre inaugurated at Sungro.
And importantly, seeing the huge potential of rubber farming in the constituency, the Rubber Board of India had set up its branch at Sanis.
“With all these developments and much more in the pipeline for Sanis A/C, I see no reason why our people should not vote for our dynamic leader Neiphiu Rio. Let us also acknowledge our gratitude to him (Rio) by giving him a landslide victory,” Thomas added.
Public leader of the area, Dr. John Murry, also addressed the rally. Later, Thomas also addressed two more election rallies at Sungro and Lotsu circles.
