Is something wrong with the present Christian Mission Strategy?

In this world only 40% of the world population is Christian and the remaining are un-believers. But what our dear Lord commands us Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”. In this world, Thousands of church workers and millions of Christians supports and work for the Mission, yet still Billions uncovered and un-reached? To my own estimate, “Is the present Christian Mission Strategy is something wrong, so that we are unable to cover?

When I know that Christ died for my sins and assure of my salvation, I realized how he want me for his Ministry to save others. As quoted by James Jimomi in recent article in daily newspapers “Nagaland is a sleeping giant in Missions”. I want Naga Christian to explore fully its potential in the Ministry of Christ with greater strength to reach thousands and millions of un-believers.

Now how do we (Nagas) mobilize our potential in fullness in the Mission in order to save the lost soul in the world? In my recent article in daily newspapers “The fact about Christianity” it describe clearly how Nagas can work in unity for the Mission so that a tiny state like Nagaland can reach thousands and millions of un-believers. But do you think it is possible? The dark side and great hindrance towards our better productive in Mission is that according to present rate, within few years, there will be a hundred Christian denominations in Nagaland. One of the latest challenge towards denominational prosperity in Nagaland is given by Paul Pimomo (USA) on 18th Aug’2010, in Morung Express, he said – “So Nagas who oppose further denominational missionary work, on the grounds that Christianity already exist in Nagaland …” So a hundred denominational churches in Nagaland is arriving faster than expected.

When Naga Christian are equally divided to 100 denominational churches, we will hardly meet our church infrastructures (e.g. each church staffs salaries etc) and because of this much-much more financial capabilities and potential to mobilize in Mission will be reduced. But my soul feels grief while Jesus sees when it loses and weakens its strength and efforts towards His Mission because of “Naga Denominational Prosperity”.

The above are the reason why I don’t like further denominational churches to plant in Nagaland or any other Christian States/Nations. But I never say, Naga Missionary must not go and encourage others by having crusades like Spiritual awakening, Healing crusades etc. in other Christian nations or other Christian people will come to Nagaland and encourage Naga Christian by having such crusades. We need to encourage one another is what the Bible teaches us to do. Here, what I mean is while planning better Mission strategy, if a Christian State/Nation is planting more &more denominational churches then it will be more & more weaken/lessen in Mission potentials. So this article does not against to any denomination. Regardless of its doctrinal background, all the thousands denominational churches in the world are believed in one God under one teaching “the Bible”. So we must respect each other. Now to speak on Mission and its strategy on how can we success to reach the un-believers with greater mobilization of our potentials, Nagas may go and divide our church according to your wishes (since no-one is oppose to your freedom of choose nor even God) but if you really love Jesus and his Ministry, I could not find much scope if our church is going further and further divided.

Again while talking about Mission, don’t think it is only for un-believers. You can also do Mission in your locality. You can pray for and encourage those who are lazy and weak Christian in your local churches. But you must not find fault to others. There is lots of God fearing, generous and good people among Naga Christian and at the same time still lot of Nagas are ungodly, cheater and corrupted Christians, but we need to pray for them so that they may know the love of God because the Bible teaches us to love and pray for one another in weakness. I pray for our Naga Churches to be more active spiritually and to mobilize its potential with greater strength in His Ministry ‘instead of forming new denomination as I believe that this is the right and only thing the Bible teaches us to do’. God is merciful and His faithfulness endures forever.
