• A people without a vision will perish. This is exactly what is happening to our state. We are all Christians, but what is the point if we are not following the lessons. The Bible has all the answers. It says that a people without a vision will perish. Our state is reaping what we have sown.
• After a long silence, the Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who also holds the portfolio of National Highways, spoke about the state of the road between Dimapur and Kohima where all he did was blame the NHIDCL for not following the advice of the state government. If this is the case, what is stopping the state government from taking strong action against NHIDCL. The fact is that state government should have been actively involved from the beginning and should have directed the department to do on the spot verification and to see that the DPR was being followed and implemented fully. It is high time the state government and politicians stop thinking only for themselves. We all suffer when public infrastructure is not constructed according to the DPR.
• Facts speak, nature speaks and real time loss of life
• If the Government is serious about the road NH-29 would have been in tremendous condition now. Even CM of Nagaland afraid to travel in this road so CM himself opting helipad to reached Dimapur Airport.
• Irresponsible leaders, just busy pocketing money for themselves
• It is happening year after year. If they were serious, they would have resolved the problem years ago.
• It’s very discouraging to see that our state government is clueless in mitigating the hardships caused by the crumbling road conditions between Kohima and Dimapur. The government has been silent on this. It has not uttered any words of empathy and compassion. This is how our elected representatives behave.
• It's a shame that the state government is either clueless or not bothered about the condition of the highway between the two most important urban centres of the state. But then, what do you expect when clean elections are ignored to elect these kind of leaders?
• On September 29, the Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Minister of National Highway of Nagaland made a courtesy visit the landslide areas. But what is the point, no strong decision was taken. It is very disappointing when our elected representatives do not know how to make decisions in the interest of the public. They only do it for their own self-interests.
• Our state government is busy planning for the Hornbill Festival. It has no concern about the citizens who are suffering due to the road conditions. Please, they cannot keep blaming the weather and the rain all the time. What is required is accountability. Not just the politicians but also the Engineers whose duty it is to do road inspection and to make sure that the construction companies are doing their jobs properly. Our state must be the only one where our PWD and Road and Bridges dept don’t conduct inspections. It is frustrating to live in Nagaland. It is hopeless!
• The Nagaland government doesn't represent the interest of the state or its citizens they represent the interest for themselves and their families
• The politicians and contractors are comfortably travelling in their high end vehicles, they don’t care about how the common man is struggling because of the pathetic condition of the road.
• The state government does not care at all. It has completely neglected the Zadima to Niuland road and the Pilma road as well. The state government has no foresight and no vision. It only has interest for itself.
Others:
• A generally observed yet factual reality is that the government is on its toes only when the Hornbill season arrives. How can we expect other connecting roads in the state to be accessible when our own National highways have crippling potholes and landslide-inducing dumps? More importantly, even the efforts during the other seasons are exceedingly slow... The government really needs to accelerate its practical perspective towards the situation of the state.
• Please don't sell your vote.
• The system of consensus candidate put up by the villages is also responsible for the decline of democracy.
