Asks govt to modify notification before March
Dhansiripar, March 12 (MExN): The Joint Co-ordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) for Dimapur District on Saturday said that it would launch a series of protests including indefinite hunger strike from the first week of April against the inclusion of Dhansiripar sub-division areas under the newly created Chümoukedima district.
A decision to this effect was made during the Committee’s emergency executive meeting on March 12 at the Co-Convenor and GB Tsithrongse’s residence, according to a press release.
The Committee reiterated that it would “leave no stone un-turn to realise its objective of continuing to remain with Dimapur district instead of merging with the newly created Chümoukedima district.”
“The JCCV once again impress upon the Government to rectify the notification dated December 20, 2021 placing back the listed 51 villages under Dimapur district without further delay,” the release stated.
Failure on the part of the Government to modify the said notification within March 2022 would compel the JCCV to launch a series protests including indefinite hunger strike from the first week of April 2022, it added.
