KOHIMA (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) to mark the occasion of National Press day visited the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home today. It was a memorable occasion with much interactions and entertainment shared with the inmates.
The KPC on the occasion distributed sweets and other refreshment while spending quality time with the members of the Home.
The experience of each pressman present there was intense, as they stood observing the activities of the children, for instance the praise and worship hour in the small chapel with the Home’s very own 11 years old guitarist Vilalie on the lead.
Everyone from the eldest to the youngest member, 1year old Kevisenuo, fully engrossed themselves in singing praise of God. Vilalie was also seen teaching his enthusiast brothers the art of playing the guitar while his younger sisters engrossed themselves in happy chatting, clearly testifying on the admirable emotional bondage shared between the Home’s family members. One year old Kevisenuo was the source of entertainment and joy to everyone present at the occasion.
On having personal interactions with the members, it emerged clear that all of them nurtured hopeful pictures of a happy life ahead with positive attitudes characterizing their dreams.
Although shy at first most of the children opened up later and shared their dreams of becoming great leaders of the State in various capacities. Another interesting fact was that most of them wanted to become professional singers and musicians.
Considering the beauty of their voice echoing, it left no doubt, that they would one day realize their dreams.
Standing as an observer and spending time with them was an experience of a lifetime to cherish for each and every journalist present. One cannot feel but pray and wish the best for the children’s future seeing the beauty of each and every of them at the Home, happily looking ahead in life with the best of whatever they can offer to the society.
