Peren, February 4 (MExN): The Jalukie Pumling Nko on Friday cautioned against buying and selling of land within the Jalukie jurisdiction. The organisation in a press statement issued by its Chairman, Kumui Nring said that it has come to the notice of the Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) that certain individual or group were indulging in unauthorized selling of land by setting up fictitious claims by means of forge/fabricated documents and impersonation.
“To curb this illegal activities pertaining to land grabbing, operating either individually or in group, the JPN decisively passed to take stringent actions, under relevant acts and customary practice against any perpetrators found culpable in such actions,” it stated.
The JPN has urged the right thinking citizens not to be misled into committing such unlawful acts and to abstain from buying of land without obtaining NOC from the Jalukie Pumling Nko/Old Jalukie Village Council. “Buying of land through unscrupulous dealers/ buyers is entirely at their own risk and will not be condoned by the Jalukie people. Hence, the public in general are hereby, once again intimated not to enter into any land transaction within the Jalukie jurisdiction without the consent of the JPN/ Old Jalukie Village Council,” it notified.
“Land being our greatest assets and identity passed down through generations by our forefathers, the Jalukie people will safeguard and maintain the entire stretch of its territorial boundaries, heritage and natural resources at all cost,” JPN stated and added that, “all dealing pertaining to land issue, the consent from the appropriate authority should be obtained to avoid any misunderstanding in future.”
Meanwhile, the JPN and OJVC have extended their full corporation and support to the ongoing works of NH129A road construction within its jurisdiction. It cautioned that any individual/groups hindering the developmental work shall be dealt with appropriate action.
It also requested the construction company and the law enforcement agencies to keep constant vigilance against individual/group indulge in unscrupulous act for their own self interest and gain. “We also admit not to compromise with inferior workmanship but to deliver quality work as per the standard specification,” it reiterated.
Further, JPN stated that it also banned burning of charcoal and random cutting of firewood for business purpose. The defaulters shall be dealt with disciplinary action including fine. It is also forewarned all general public that hunting within the community reserved forest is strictly prohibited, violators shall be heavily fined, banish from the village and his/her weapon shall be seized.
