Khango led NSCN (K) revokes decision of ceasefire abrogation

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The NSCN (K) led by Khango Konyak today informed that it has decided to revoke the earlier decision of unilateral ceasefire abrogation with immediate effect.

A press note from Chairman and President, Lt General (Retd) Khango Konyak and General Secretary, Col (Retd) Isak Sumi informed that this decision was taken after “wide consultation with NGOs and civil society organizations in Nagaland during the last one month.”

The appeal made by various organizations and the “positive response” by the Government of India were also factors in this decision, it stated. It therefore expected the Government of India to “respond positively by honouring our decision to revive ceasefire in the interest of peace in Nagaland and Naga people in general.”
