Killing at Tamenglong District: a wild justice

Revenge is never right. It is a wild justice. It is not a solution but dissolution. It is not human right but God’s role.

The recent killing and counter killing in Tamenglong district by and among the so called Naga national workers is a shameful picture, showing the raw and barbaric or bestial nature of Zeliangrong people in particular and the Nagas in general. It was never expected of the so called peace loving and Christian Zeliangrong community to have manifested such an unchristian and brutal mentality. What better word or better way can one define for such a people as Zeliangrong who in their own land are spilling blood of their own kindred and brethren and professing, they are doing good for the cause of the nation.  Words and hearts have failed to utter such an unimaginable incidences. The blaming and counter blaming of the killing at Haochong Village Tamenglong simply tells a total disregard to morality and Christian principle.

The so called Naga National workers, I don’t want to mention the names of factions for reason of avoiding shameful implication of the Naga Nationality that have been spoiled by those names. No faction or nationalist groups who are party to this level of hunting each other are true national workers but killers of the nation. The deaths of innocent civilian and some cadres at Haochong Village is irreparably painful and regretful and much more is the death of Mr. Athikho at Tamenglong HQ killed in cold blooded manner.

My question to those nationalists involves in the bloody fighting are; Why are you trying to be true and right by taking revenge killing at other? Why can’t you honestly confess or admit before God and the people, your act of killing or attacking your own brothers at Haochong Village? Do you think that by trying to conceal your act, you can avoid your turn and the judgment of God? You may do so for a time but the truth will reveal you at last and you shall reap your own action. Be brave and daring to admit your act of the killing and stop confusing and harassing the publics. Publics’ feeds your stomachs and you trouble even killing them for doing good for your survival? Have you lost our national vision and is blind to truth, right and   your own people?  You are fighting and killing among yourself just for personal grudges or selfish reason with arms meant to defend the cause of the nation. What a shame and ruthless.

The intolerable death of Mr. Athikho Mao supposed to be killed to revenge the act of Haochong incidence, is totally unacceptable. Are you trying to justify your act as right by blaming on other to escape the blame from the public?  Do you think that, Killing  Athikho Mao whoever or whichever faction he may belong to, will justify your reason and make you blameless?  No act of whatsoever can justify the deed of killing human being by another human being. No peace can come to those who are guilty of killing unless he confess, and be forgiven by the victim family and of God. No man can escape even one single act of killing from the retribution of God. No solution, No peace can Naga achieve through killing of one another. The publics are so disturbed, hurt and greatly disappointed over the excessive activities of the Nationalists. The national workers with their arms raised by the people and for the people to defend the people are turning to the people with their guns and threats demanding taxes, commanding order, compelling the people to serve them at gun points. Oh what a turn and picture! The people fall prey in the hands of national workers in their own homeland. There arises a necessity to move for a mass reconciliation between the Publics and national workers lest we succumb to our own folly.

Feeling the pain, grieve and suffering of the Bereaved families of those who died for no reason of their own, I as a concerned and responsible Naga citizen, am conveying my truest feeling of sorrow and regret, sharing with the Bereaved families at the same time pleading for forgiveness no matter how painful, irreparable lost and moments of bitter experience you are going through. I share the pain and grieve with the Wife and children of late Athikho through this media.  May you and your good community have the noble courage to forgive them for they know not that their own action will they reap.  Your Christian forgiveness will only be the bond of love that can extend to those erring ones who will be experiencing a deep guilty sense and shame. May I as a Zeliangrong citizen and people, pray and implore the bereaved family and community of late Athikho, to daringly forgive the guilty though painful yet needful to forgive, for the sake of the living, for and in the interest of the brotherhood of the Naga family.
