Kohima College accords farewell to Principal Dr Ralimongla

Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): Kohima College bid farewell to its Principal Dr Ralimongla on her retirement, on July 29.

According to a press release received here on Sunday, Dr Ralimongla’s tenure which began on July 9, 2019, saw the successful completion of the college commerce block, digitisation of library, upgradation and extension of language lab, inauguration of alumni office, and the renovation of IQAC office, among many others.

During the farewell programme, Dr Ralimongla expressed gratitude to the college, faculty and staff for their support and cooperation especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharing glimpses of her experiences in the college, the retiring Principal said that she had gained professional and personal growth in knowledge, wisdom and friendship. She also acknowledged the Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, the Director, Department of Higher Education, and Commissioner & Secretary, Higher Education for having the confidence in her and promoting her to Principal in 2019 after her teaching service in Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.

On behalf of the college, Vice Principal Keneilesa Neikha acknowledged and expressed his appreciation on behalf of the college for the sacrifices and services rendered by Dr Ralimongla during her tenure as Principal.

Short speeches were also delivered by Mhaliezolie Kire, President, Kohima College Teachers Association (KCTA), Victor on behalf of the ministerial staff of KCK, Kossam Konyak on behalf of the Kohima College Students Council (KCSC) and by other faculty and staff members, the release stated.

Megovono Usou, HoD, Department of English chaired the programme and special numbers were performed by Lily Angami, HoD, Department of Economics and KCSC member Lhousazolie Zumu. The benediction was pronounced by Vezholü Kotso, Asst Professor, Department of English.
