Kohima DTF stresses on COVID testing and vaccination drives

Kohima, June 29 (MExN): The importance of COVID-19 testing and vaccination were underscored during the Kohima District Task Force meeting on June 29, according to a DIPR report.

The meeting which was chaired by Kohima Deputy Commissioner and DTF Chairperson Gregory Thejawelie was attended by Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affair, Dr Neikiesalie Kire, Advisor for Technical Education and Election Medo Yhokha, representatives from the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO), Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP) and heads of departments.

According to the DIPR, the house discussed modalities and measures to activate the first ‘unlock’ phase from July 1. It also reviewed the vaccination status in the district and decided to take up more measures and awareness to sensitise and vaccinate all eligible beneficiaries.

The KCCI suggested that shopkeepers paste vaccination cards at the entrance of the shops to indicate that the shopkeeper has been vaccinated. The KCCI and AKMWP were also been requested to assist the DTF in monitoring the malls, markets and shopping complex and regulate additional SOPs to avoid overcrowding during the unlock phase.

In the course of discussion, the DTF requested all the leaders of the wards to identify the positive patients and strictly adhere to the SOPs of isolation and to keep track of them till their isolation period is over, the DIPR report stated.

The DTF decided that future course of action would be issued after getting directives from the state High Powered Committee. The meeting concluded with suggestions from the members to strictly enforce the odd-even traffic system and other COVID-19 protocols at all times, it stated.
