Kohima DTF takes stock of situation in Containment Zone

Kohima, June 26 (MExN): Kohima District Task Force (DTF) held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner's Office chamber on June 26. 


Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS briefing the members informed the unfortunate positive case of one NHAK employee, a resident of Upper PWD on June 25. He informed that in this connection, the Incident Response System (IRS) was activated yesterday by earmarking the containment zone of that particular area/colony as laid in the guidelines by the District Administration and Police personnel. The Surveillance Team and Rapid Response Team (RRT) carried out the contact tracing while the medical team were placed inside the containment zone to be stationed for further necessary functional tasks. Police personnel were placed at the entry and exit gates for further security and safety measures.


As per the DIPR report, the meeting decided to ensure flow of essential commodities by the KMC to the Containment Zone, to work out mechanism for sanitization of essential commodities vehicles, Ambulance and Police vehicles and also to place thermal screening at the entry and exit gates. 


It was also decided that CMO Kohima, Dr Vezokholu to tie up with the colony chairman for youth volunteers in assisting the medical team and others wherever necessary.


CMO also informed the house that the main objective of the medical team led by one medical officer and staff along with Anganwadi and helpers will be working at the containment zone to stop transmission, morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19.


The house also recommended for release of returnees from Kohima, Kiphire and Tuensang as submitted by the concerned Medical Officers of Quarantine Centres at Kohima to the Chief Secretary for further necessary action.
Advisor Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, R Khing also attended the meeting.

 

Traffic regulations for Kohima
 

Kohima, June 26 (MExN):  In view of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Order designating Upper PWD Colony, Municipal Ward No-11, as Containment Zone, a press release from the PRO DEF Kohima informed that the following traffic regulations has been made:


1.    Entry and exit of vehicular traffic into/from the containment zone will be sealed from P.W.D police point (near Hanny’s corner shop) and Faith Harvest Church.


2.    Commuters proceeding to Upper Chandmari/Lower Chandmari shall take Mezhur Higher Secondary-Midland-Chandmari route or Mhonkhola – Upper A.G – Lower A.G – Lower Chandmari route.


3.    There will be a one-way vehicular traffic from Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Upper Chandmari junction to NSF Martyrs’ Park via Office of the District Commandant, Home Guard and Civil Defence Office junction.


4.    The will be no entry for vehicular traffic from NSF Martyrs’ Park junction towards Upper/Lower Chandmari and Bethel Hospital.


5.    No heavy vehicles, with or without permit, including Government  staff buses will be allowed to ply along Midland-Chandmari route, Upper Chandmari to NSF Martyrs’ Park route via Office of the District Commandant, Home Guard and Civil Defence Office junction from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.


Citizens have been requested to cooperate with the traffic advisory.
