Kohima, March 1 (MExN): The 10-day Research Methodology Course for M.Phil., Ph.D and PDF scholars in Social Sciences, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, concluded at Nagaland University’s Kohima Campus, Meriema on February 28. Jointly organised by Department of Management and Department of Education, the course, which commenced on February 19, brought together scholars and experts for an intensive learning experience.

The valedictory ceremony held at the Ladies’ Common Room was graced by Prof Buno Zetsuvi, former Dean of the School of Humanities & Education, Nagaland University as the chief guest. In her address, Prof Zetsuvi underscored the importance of research in unlocking new dimensions of knowledge and problem-solving. She spoke about the significance of objectivity and reliability in research, stressing the need for ethical practices that contribute meaningfully to society. She commended the organizers and participants for the successful completion of the course and encouraged them to continue their academic pursuits with diligence.

A detailed workshop report was presented by Dr M Rajendra Nath Babu, Co-Course Director, highlighting the selection process and participation. A total of 30 scholars attended the workshop from various Universities and Institutes of National Importance.

The programme featured 34 sessions focusing on research methodology, academic publishing, and standardization of research tools. A one-day field trip to Khonoma village and Dzuleke was also part of the course, providing participants with hands-on exposure to field research techniques. Participants shared their feedback, reflecting on their experiences and insights gained in the workshop.
